Tidysaurus Rex is an original concept by RamJam created for kids that hate tidying up and parents that are forever nagging their kids to tidy up after themselves. Our original concept was created as a fun kids app that also had a message behind it but without being too heavy handed.
We always loved the ‘Haunted House’ pop-up book growing up; a house containing hidden secrets in every room for the reader to discover and monsters to uncover throughout.
With Tidysaurus Rex we got to create an interactive world with touches of Haunted House and elements of Ghostbusters with quick-fire fun games and animated story telling.
Little do the kids know what they've done - endlessly blaming the 'Mess Monster' has conjured it up and made it into a reality! The Mess Monster has possessed the junk in the various rooms around the house that the kids have left messy and now the kids are in real trouble.
The Mess Monsters have taken valuable items from around the house along with the junk and it’s the kids job to find the items; defeating the Mess Monsters by tidying up all the junk they've left lying around and all before Mum gets home.
Luckily the kids have a secret base in the basement (these are very fortunate kids, don't spoil your kids this much parents) and can see where Mess Monster activity is taking place aorund the house for them to investiagte.
For the game we came up with twelve Mess monsters in six locations around the house. There are two Mess Monsters per location, themed around the junk you might find in the different locations of the house.
Each room has a set of mess events that can occur and triggered by the Mess Monster firing out an attack. To tidy up the user has to drag the items back into their righful place, mop up a spill or turn off taps, with each successful clean up event causing an attack back at the Mess Monster.
Once a room is fully cleared up the Mess Monster disappears and, if the kids are lucky, drops one of the valuale items they'd picked up too.
Once all items are found Mum miraculously always knows and comes straight back to sparklingly clean home and treats the kids to a slap up meal.
There is always a small Mess Monster lurking around though so the kids need to always keep on top of it...
