The experience was created for stand alone VR headsets allowing users to enjoy the experience at any location without the need for bulky or expensive equipment.

You begin the VR story outside in total darkness with a clear starry night above you. As dawn rises you see that you are in a lush, grassy field, a relaxed couple is sitting in front of you.

The original voiceover explains how ‘life can change a lot in 5 years…’, triggering a timelapse journey, days and years are experienced flying past as the environment grows and changes around you.

The journey slows to a stop and reveals the environment having changed, the couple barely ageing.

We leveraged the compelling power of virtual reality, incorporating binaural audio and immersive visual cues where possible (i.e. a bee is heard flying past your ear, a butterfly gently flies toward you) to truly engage the user in the experience.

The entire experience was created from scratch, creating a real-time 3D world based on the photographic images for the accompanying campaign.

To really embed the couple in the VR scene make them come to life, we projection mapped the original 2D photos onto 3D models that we then animated, having them react to the realtime lighting and seasons that take place in the scene around them.
